The Complete 2020 ULU Guide to Using CBD Oil For Dogs

Dog CBD is on the rise in the UK market. In fact, thousands of UK pet owners are turning to CBD to support the health of their furry friends. But if you don’t know where to start it can all be a bit confusing. So, we’ve created The Complete 2020 ULU Guide to Using CBD Oil For Dogs.

In this article, we’ll be covering:

  • What is CBD oil for dogs?
  • Will CBD get your dog high?
  • How to choose the best CBD oil for dogs
  • The benefits of using CBD hemp oil for dogs
  • How to find the correct dosage for your pet

What is CBD oil for dogs?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. It’s a type of chemical called an cannabinoid, and it comes from hemp. And quite simply, CBD oil for dogs is cannabidiol mixed into an edible carrier oil, designed to be ingested by canines, usually at mealtimes.

Will CBD get your dog high?

CBD is a non-psychoactive, non-rewarding substance. And as long as you buy a THC-free product (the psychoactive chemical found in marijuana) it will not cause a high in humans or dogs!

How to choose the best CBD oil for dogs

There are a few important things to look out for when it comes to buying the best CBD oil for dogs. And it’s worth taking the extra time to decide on your purchase because naturally, you wouldn’t want to give your pet anything low quality or potentially dangerous! So, here are 4 important factors to look out for to help you guarantee the best possible product:

1. For canine use

Firstly, you’ll want to buy a product that specifies canine use on the bottle. This is because human CBD can sometimes come with additives and extras that might not be designed to suit man’s best friend!

2. Pleasant flavour

Secondly, and perhaps most simply, the best CBD oil for dogs is one that your pet will actually enjoy! So, it’s no use buying a dog CBD product with a strong, earthy flavour that your pet will run a mile from! Instead, you should try to find products with flavours your dog will actually enjoy to avoid wasting money. A product with a meaty flavour, designed to be mixed into food will usually do the trick!

3. CBD hemp oil for dogs

Next, it’s important to make sure the CBD oil you’re buying comes from hemp and not marijuana!

Marijuana and hemp are both part of the cannabis plant family. However, they couldn’t be more different. This is because marijuana contains a substance called THC – the psychoactive chemical that causes users to feel high. It’s also illegal in the UK and very harmful to dogs.

And whilst CBD oil can come from either hemp or marijuana, only hemp CBD oil will contain 0% THC in the UK. Therefore, you should only buy UK CBD hemp oil for dogs. Because, provided it comes from a reputable, trustworthy company, this will not contain any harmful THC.

a family tree diagram of cannabis, hemp and marijuana

4. Full-spectrum oil

Lastly, the best CBD hemp oil for dogs is one that is classed as full-spectrum.

There are three classes of CBD oil: isolate, broad spectrum and full-spectrum. CBD isolate is the purest, most isolated form of CBD. Full-spectrum contains cannabidiol, in addition to other beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes and oils found in the hemp plant. And broad spectrum is somewhere in between the two.

So, full spectrum CBD hemp oil for dogs is a superior product, because it allows your canine friend to benefit from all of the other compounds found within the hemp plant – not just cannabidiol!

Our recommendation:

And of course, here at ULU we think our 5% full-spectrum CBD hemp oil for canine use is the best CBD oil for for dogs on the UK market! It comes with organic Cannabidiol and a subtle sausage flavour even the fussiest of pets will love!

Why use CBD hemp oil for dogs?

So, what are the benefits of giving your dog a CBD oil product? Here are X main areas that have proved promising based on scientific research and canine trials so far.

However, we’d like to stress that CBD oil isn’t designed to cure illnesses in animals. We’ve listed the benefits below in relation to particular research studies and clinical trials, however there is still more research that needs to be done in this area. Therefore, you should never use CBD as a substitute for vet-prescribed medications, and always consult your vet before giving your dog a CBD product.

The canine Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a cell-signalling system found within both humans and canines, as well as a variety of other animals. It’s responsible for helping the body to maintain homeostasis – the strictly balanced parameters that keep us functioning properly.

The ECS works through receptors present throughout the body. These receptors act like a lock – opened by cannabinoids including CBD. And when these receptors are unlocked, they provide benefits for a wide variety of physiological processes including:

  • Mood
  • Appetite
  • Memory
  • Immune system response
  • Sleep

So, using CBD for yourself or for your pet will help the ECS to function properly, helping to support overall health and wellbeing!

Anxiety

No pet owner wants to see their dog experience anxiety. But it’s something that can quickly flare up due to something as simple as a change in routine, a new environment, or every pet owner’s worst nightmare – firework night!

CBD is a known and natural relaxant, often used by human sufferers of anxiety. This is due to the fact that CBD helps the body to produce both serotonin (nature’s happy chemical) and the calming amino acid, GABA.

And so more and more pet owners are using CBD hemp oil for dog anxiety. In fact, a recent study showed that anxiety and phobia reduction was one of the top 5 reasons for pet CBD purchases.

Appetite

It can be difficult if your dog is a fussy eater! And even more difficult if nausea and sickness is something that accompanies this issue.

If this sounds like your dog, you’ll be pleased to know that dog CBD can help to calm a sensitive or stressed stomach, promote a healthy appetite and also reduce nausea in canines.

In fact, this is one of the reasons why CBD is often given alongside canine cancer medications.

Seizures

Idiopathic epilepsy, a seizure inducing illness affects nearly 6% of the canine population worldwide. This makes it one of the most common canine neurologic conditions!

However, A recent study into using CBD oil for dog seizures found that 89% of dogs who received CBD in the clinical trial had a reduction in the frequency of seizures.

In fact, the study facilitator stated: “We saw a correlation between how high the levels of CBD were in these dogs with how great the seizure reduction was.”

Arthritis

Osteoarthritis and other painful joint conditions are on the rise in canines due to an ageing dog population and an increase in dog obesity.

If you’ve read any of our blogs here at ULU, you’ll already know that CBD is a powerful, natural anti-inflammatory component. And the reason for this is that CBD has been proven to reduce pro-inflammatory cytokines in the body. In fact this recent study found that cannabinol was able to significantly decrease pain and increase mobility in dogs with OA.

CBD oil dosage for dogs

When it comes to choosing the correct CBD oil dosage for dogs, this depends on a few factors:

  • The weight of your dog
  • The benefits you’re looking to achieve
  • The specific product you’re buying

Dog weight

When it comes to using the correct CBD oil dosage for dogs, you should aim to start with up to 5 mg CBD per 5 kG of body weight per day. It’s better to start with a lower dose to ease your dog into taking CBD. Then, wait a couple of weeks to see if you’ve noticed any benefits and slowly increase the dose as needed.

CBD-oil-with-dropper

The health benefits

CBD isn’t a magical cure-all for humans or for canines! It doesn’t work overnight and it can’t solve every problem. So, you’ll need to use CBD regularly and over a long-term period to have any real benefits.

Furthermore, different doses are better suited to different issues. If you’re looking for support with a long-term chronic pain issue or a severe anxiety problem, you’ll likely need a slightly higher dose than a pet owner who’s just looking to support overall health and wellbeing.

Disclaimer: You should never attempt to treat a canine medical issue or use a CBD product on your dog without first consulting your vet! And remember, CBD oil for dogs is an added health aid – it’s not a substitute for vet prescribed medication.

The product

There are hundreds of CBD pet products on the UK market all in different sizes and different levels of strength. And unfortunately, markers of CBD concentration can change from retailer to retailer. Some us mg, some use % of CBD and some use PPM. This can make it really difficult to compare products and actually work out how much CBD you’re getting per dose.

But you’ll need to be able to work out amount of CBD per use to find the right CBD oil dosage for dogs. As a result, we only recommend buying from retailers who provide you with this information. Or, at the very least provide you with the total CBD content and the number of uses per bottle so you can work this out for yourself.

Here at ULU, we want to make it simple for people to work out the correct CBD oil dosage for dogs. So, our CBD hemp oil for dogs contains approximately 5mg of CBD! Simple.

Everything You Need to Know About Buying CBD in Manchester

When it comes to CBD, Manchester is ahead of the curve. While the CBD industry is still comparatively new to the UK, in Manchester it has already taken off, with many Manchester residents using it to treat pain, anxiety, stress and sleeplessness. However, with so much choice on the market, it can be difficult to know where to start. So, here’s everything you need to know when it comes to buying CBD in Manchester. We’ll cover different types of CBD products in Manchester, how to find a reputable CBD company, and where to buy CBD oil in Manchester.

A quick guide to hemp and CBD oil in Manchester

  • Hemp-derived CBD oil in Manchester (and other CBD products) are widely available
  • Industrial hemp cultivated in England must contain 0.2% THC or less
  • CBD oil in Manchester includes full-spectrum , broad spectrum and isolate options
  • In England the Home Office regulates the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp.
  • If you wish to register to grow hemp in England you can find further advice here
  • CBD products in Manchester, and the UK as a whole, must have untraceable levels of THC – so less than 0.00% THC content

Is it legal to buy CBD in Manchester?

Short answer: Yes! CBD is not considered a controlled substance in the UK, and therefore it is completely legal to buy CBD in Manchester.

Long answer: Whilst CBD products in Manchester are legal, they do come with some restrictions. Any CBD product you buy will need to meet all British legal standards and requirements. And this includes containing less than 0.00% THC content. (THC is the psychoactive chemical found in marijuana that causes a high. It’s illegal in the UK.)

It’s also important to note that the guidelines around CBD oil in Manchester could soon be changing. In Europe, CBD oil has recently been classed as a novel food item, meaning that it could become banned. And whilst it’s unclear whether the UK will follow Europe by introducing this restriction, it’s still important to keep up to date with the laws surrounding UK CBD.

You should also make sure to only buy from UK-based CBD businesses. Contrary to popular belief, guidelines regarding hemp-derived CBD can still vary wildly from country to country. So, there’s always a risk in Manchester of finding CBD products that have been imported from other countries and may not be legal here.

Remember, you’ll still be held liable for purchasing an illegal product, even if it was mis-sold to you by a CBD retailer!

CBD products in Manchester

There’s a lot of choice when it comes to buying CBD products in Manchester. And whilst this means there’s truly a CBD product for everyone, it also means that it can be difficult to find the right product – especially from a retailer you can trust.

We’ll talk more below about how to find a reputable CBD retailer, as well as how to choose a product that works for you. But to help you understand your options, here are some of the most popular CBD products in Manchester.

CBD OIL IN MANCHESTER

A girl showing how to use an ULU CBD oil bottle with a pipette

Over the last 5 years, CBD oil in Manchester has exploded in popularity. In fact, CBD oral drops are regarded by many as the most common form of CBD in the UK as a whole. And this is likely because CBD oil is extremely easy to use. Simply use the dropper to place 2-3 drops under your tongue. Then, wait for 60 seconds for your body to absorb the CBD. Alternatively, try adding CBD oil to food – such as our gooey CBD chocolate brownies!

As CBD oil is applied under the tongue, it is quickly and directly absorbed into the bloodstream. This makes oils great for helping with any longer-term mood issues such as anxiety and stress. Cannabidiol is also a natural anti-inflammatory, so swallowing high-strength CBD over a long-term period can also help with chronic inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, IBS and other auto-immune illnesses.

However, you’ll need to take high concentrations of CBD oil to receive any real benefits. That’s why here at ULU, we offer some of the most potent CBD oils on the UK market. And we always clearly publish the exact level of CBD per individual drop, so you can easily compare products.

CBD SKINCARE

The ULU CBD beauty collection. 5 CBD beauty products in their bottles. Muscle rub, Serum, CBD skincare creme, balm and body oil.

CBD beauty and skincare ranges are perhaps the newest additions to the Manchester CBD market. However, as CBD is a powerful natural anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and moisturiser, it’s really no surprise that it’s becoming more common in the beauty and skincare industry.

CBD skincare comes in the form of creams, oils and serums, applied directly to the skin. This means they are great for helping with dry skin conditions, anti-ageing and also acne reduction. However, as the skin is a natural barrier, you’ll need to use high-strength CBD creams to have any real effect. We’re not confident that any topical CBD product with a cannabidiol concentration of less than 1% will do much more than waste money.

Here at ULU, we’ve developed a high-concentration CBD skincare range. In fact, we haven’t been able to find another UK company with higher concentration CBD skincare products than us. All of our ingredients are organic, sourced from the EU and are combined with our potent luxury cannabidiol.

CBD VAPING

CBD vape oils in front of stressed out overwhelmed men and women

For those who enjoy vaping, CBD vape products can combine the fulfilling experience of inhalation with the wellness benefits of hemp extract. CBD vape oils are available in a variety of flavours and concentration levels.

And as vaping allows the CBD to be quickly absorbed into the body, many have reported that it provides an instant feeling of calm and relaxation. However, you’ll need to vape CBD in high-concentrations over a longer timeframe to receive long-term benefits for anxiety, stress, and health.

Be sure to check out our fine range of CBD vape options in the ULU online store. We offer 6 flavours of our high-concentration vape oils.

CBD TABLETS AND CAPSULES

ULU CBD tablets packaging with gel capsules displayed

CBD tablets are a convenient method to take your daily dosage of CBD oil. They are clean, as well as being easy to use and transport with you – one of the reasons why they are an extremely popular choice for professionals as well as athletes in Manchester and the surrounding area.

CBD tablets are a great fit if you already take a daily multivitamin. And when taken regularly, they can have all the benefits of CBD including boosted mood, improved immune function, neuroprotection and pain management.

Check out our ULU range of CBD tablet capsules. High-strength CBD in a gel coating for easy swallowing.

What about hemp oil in Manchester?

There’s often confusion when it comes to CBD oil products and hemp oil in Manchester. So, to set the record straight: whilst CBD oil and hemp oil both come from the hemp plant, only CBD products contain cannabidiol. However, hemp oil actually comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, which contain only minute levels of CBD, if any.

Of course, you can buy hemp oil in Manchester. And these products have some cosmetic benefits. However, you won’t receive all of the wider benefits of cannabidiol. So, always make sure to check the labels of anything you buy very carefully.

Industrial hemp in Manchester

Industrial hemp in Manchester must be grown in the UK, and must have a THC content of 0.2% or less. (With the final CBD product containing less than 0.00% THC.) Hemp seeds must also be selected from the European Approved Seed Catalogue.

You’ll also need a license from the Government to grow hemp in Manchester. And to receive this, you’ll need to follow a number of guidelines including:

  • Informing Manchester Police that you hold a hemp growing license
  • Refraining from growing hemp in Manchester near schools or playgrounds
  • Provide an exact field reference number as well as exact measurements of the growing area
  • Renew your license every year before the start of the hemp growing season

How to guarantee high-quality CBD products in Manchester

Over the last few years there has been a large increase in the number of retailers of CBD products in Manchester. And while some manufacturers do everything they can to manufacture real, high-quality cannabidiol products, others simply do not. In short, there is a wide variety of standards in overall value and quality on the Manchester CBD market.

So, here are some of our best tips to find a reputable retailer and guarantee a high-quality CBD product .

  • Always look at concentration levels. Many retailers use different concentration level indicators (from PPM to mg to %.) But you’ll need a high-concentration CBD product (>5% CBD oils capsules and vapes, and >1% CBD skincare creams) to have any real benefits. Reputable companies will give an overall % of CBD content, or even tell you the CBD content per dose like we do for our high-strength CBD oils.
  • Try to find out about the extraction method used to pull cannabidiol from the hemp plant. Methods such as CO2 extraction and ones that use ultrasonic technology produce a higher-quality product than an oil or solvent extraction method. Find out why buying a high-quality CBD product actually matters!
  • Only buy from companies who have their products tested by independent labs to verify 0% THC, purity and CBD content. Recently many mainstream UK CBD retailers were found to have illegal levels of THC, and lower levels of CBD than advertised in their products. (You can read our ULU lab reports here)
  • Read product reviews – not just on the retailers’ websites, but on third-party review sites
  • Try to look for testimonials and case studies to see what real users have to say, but bear in mind that these could be sponsored by the retailer
  • Only buy from a UK-based CBD company, as other countries have different CBD laws which could make any imported products illegal here in the UK

Where to buy CBD products in Manchester

If you’re looking to buy CBD products in Manchester, you have plenty of options. However, not all options are equal. You may find that CBD quality varies greatly depending on which option you choose.

So, let’s take a look at the different ways to buy CBD in Manchester.

Buy CBD in-store

Consumers can purchase CBD products in places such as health food shops, chemists, and specialist CBD shops like vape stores. Even mainstream retailers such as Boots and Holland & Barrett now sell a range of CBD products. You can also find CBD drinks and oils in some off-licenses and petrol stations.

However, we don’t recommend buying a CBD product in a Manchester store. Contrary to popular belief, having a CBD product available to buy in a physical location isn’t a marker of quality. Furthermore, you may be pressured by a sales assistant to buy something without doing proper research. And even worse, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert on-hand to answer questions if you’re buying from a more general retailer. And all of this runs the risk that you’ll waste money on a low-quality product that isn’t right for your needs.

Buy CBD online

However, there is another easier and more convenient option: online shopping or e-commerce. As one of the UK’s most trusted and well-established CBD brands, we believe here at ULU that the online shopping experience is superior to in-store shopping.

Why? It allows you the opportunity to do exhaustive research on the products you are buying, with no pressure of time or salespeople. Also, online shopping saves you time, as your purchases are delivered safely to your home or office. With social distancing so important during the Covid-19 outbreak in Manchester, home shopping is the way forward.  No hassle, no stress: just convenience and a well-informed choice.

CBD and Tattoos: Why Use CBD Oils Pre and Post Tattoo

Tattooing is ever-popular, with more and more people turning to tattooing as a means of creating an individual statement or style. And tattooing comes from the time of Julius Caesar, so it is certainly not a new trend. However, in recent years it has become more acceptable to be seen having a tattoo in daily life. So, with this in mind, people are increasingly looking at how to deal with the process of gaining a tattoo, as well as the recovery and maintenance of their newly marked skin.

And when it comes to tattoo maintenance and aftercare, there are many options to choose from. So, in this article, we’ll talk about:

  • Everything you need to know about CBD and tattoos
  • Why we think CBD oils are the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK
  • How to use CBD before and after your tattoo session
  • CBD tattoo aftercare advice
  • We’ll also briefly mention hemp oil and tattoo aftercare.

CBD and Tattoos

More and more UK consumers (including tattoo artists) are starting to realise the link between CBD and tattoos. However, with so many UK retailers making outlandish claims about CBD, it can be difficult to believe everything you read.

And when we say that CBD oil is one of the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK, we want you to be able to trust our advice. So, when it comes to CBD tattoo aftercare here are the main benefits – backed up with several scientific studies. Just follow the links to see our sources!

Pain Relief

Anyone who’s had a tattoo can agree on the fact that the process comes with some pain. And if you have your tattoo done on a highly sensitive area such as the ribcage, knees or feet, it’s likely to come with quite a lot of pain.

However, some over-the-counter medications can actually adversely affect your tattoo, For example, Ibuprofen thins the blood, making you more likely to bleed during tattooing. This not only makes it harder for the tattooist to clearly follow the stencil, but also slows down the healing process.  So, it’s best to avoid taking these painkillers.

However, it can actually be much more effective to take CBD for pain relief. Did you know that when taken in high doses, CBD can actually change the way your brain and body respond to pain? Cannabidiol essentially reduces your sensitivity to pain, making painful stimuli more manageable, all without causing any unwanted side-effects. Making CBD by far the best natural tattoo aftercare solution.

tattoo-artist-tattooing-an-arm

Relaxation

We’ve already discussed pain above, but did you know that stress also directly affects your perception of pain? Many studies have shown that people experiencing stress are more likely to feel more pain, and that stress also increases your body’s sensitivity to painful stimuli. (And this is much worse for people who suffer from depression and anxiety.) But don’t fear! CBD can change the way your brain responds to stressful stimuli, making stressful situations appear less stressful.

So, when having a tattoo, it’s far better to be relaxed and calm than stressed and nervous. As this will actually help you to better manage the pain – making the tattoo experience more enjoyable, but also helping you to keep still so that the tattoo artist can properly do their job.

CBD vapes are some of the best products to provide relaxation benefits. When you vape CBD, it is quickly and directly absorbed by the body. (Whereas other methods such as capsules and oil drops take longer to enter the bloodstream.) Therefore, many users report feeling a more instant calming sensation when vaping.

So, why not try vaping CBD before your next tattoo session?

Improved healing

After your tattoo session is complete, the tattoo area will become red and swollen. And this is perfectly normal, as this is your body’s natural healing process and immune response kicking in. However, it can sometimes take a while for this swelling to subside, and when it eventually does, this often gives way to itching. (And your friends with tattoos will no doubt have complained about the awful itching post-tattoo!)

So, to help the body and skin to heal, many people are turning to topical CBD skincare creams, oils and serums. This is because CBD is a powerful, natural anti-inflammatory agent. And with inflammation at the heart of scarring and skin damage, being able to treat it means helping the body to heal. CBD oil also contains vital vitamin E, which protects cells, adds moisture and reduces itching.

And unlike NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, CBD works much more gently. Cannabidiol does not thin the blood to the same extent as ibuprofen, and therefore tattooists often advise that CBD products are safe to use pre- and post-tattoo.

Skin moisture

Any tattoo artist will tell you that it’s so important to keep the skin moisturised after having a tattoo – both in the short-term and the long-term. In the short-term, keeping your skin moisturised prevents any sticking, rubbing or peeling from damaging the tattoo, whilst also preventing itching. And in the long-term, moisture helps keep colours bold, lines defined and helps prevent tattoo deterioration.

And CBD oils are the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK because of their moisturising properties. CBD is rich in essential fatty acids which protect the skin’s oil barrier and prevent moisture loss. So, using topically-applied CBD oils or creams can help keep your skin moisturised and your tattoo protected. And when combined with the naturally moisturising ingredients in a cream or oil, your skin will benefit from ultimate moisture.

To further assist tattoo recovery and maintenance, we recommend searching for topical CBD products that also contain:

  • Natural organic aloe
  • Vitamin and mineral loaded jojoba oil
  • Vitamin E
  • DMAE (Deanol)
  • MSM ( Dimethyl Sulphone)

human-tatooed-hand-between-yellow-petaled-flower-field

Natural tattoo aftercare

When caring for your tattoo, it’s important to use natural products that don’t contain harsh ingredients. Natural forms of tattoo aftercare and maintenance provide greater moisture benefits, and are far less likely to damage your skin – which can ruin a tattoo!

And we believe that CBD is the best natural tattoo aftercare product. It’s plant-based, so as long as you buy from a reputable company, there shouldn’t be any harsh additives. Cannabidiol also contains vital vitamin A. Vitamin A is essential for tattoo aftercare because it helps prevent tattoo fading by providing UV protection.

Many people claim that coconut oil provides the best natural tattoo aftercare. However, coconut oil can actually block your pores, leading to increased risk of infection. Whereas CBD is non-comedogenic (which means it keeps pores free from clogging.)

What about hemp oil and tattoo aftercare?

There’s a bit of confusion when it comes to CBD oil, hemp oil and tattoo aftercare in the UK. Many customers often assume that CBD oil and hemp oil are the same product. However, they are in fact very different. And whilst CBD and tattoos go hand-in-hand, there are far fewer benefits when it comes to hemp oil.

CBD oil comes from the leaves and stalks of the hemp plant. As these parts of hemp are naturally rich in cannabidiol. However, hemp oil (sometimes known as hempseed oil) comes from the seeds of the hemp plant – which do not naturally contain much, if any, CBD.

a family tree diagram of cannabis, hemp and marijuana

When it comes to hemp oil and tattoo aftercare, there are still some benefits. Hemp oil is often used to moisturise the skin. However, you won’t receive any of the benefits for pain, healing and intense moisturisation that come from CBD. – All of the reasons why we believe CBD items to be the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK.

Always remember to carefully check the ingredients of the products you buy. If the ingredients don’t specifically state ‘cannabidiol’ or ‘CBD,’ then you can’t be confident you’re buying a CBD product.

CBD Tattoo Aftercare Advice

Now you understand why CBD and tattoos are a match made in heaven, you’ll likely be keen to try CBD oil for your next tattoo session. However, whilst CBD oils are the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK, you can make them even more effective by using certain products at different stages in the healing process.

So, In this section, we’ll give some advice about the entire tattoo aftercare process, including CBD tattoo aftercare guidelines.

Pre-tattoo

You’ll probably be feeling nervous before your tattoo – especially if it’s your first time. And you’ll also probably be thinking about ways to manage the pain during the session. However, it’s extremely important not to take painkillers such as ibuprofen, which can thin your blood and prevent proper healing.

As cannabidiol works best in higher doses over a long-term basis, we recommend starting to take your CBD 2-3 weeks before having your tattoo at a rate of around 2-5mg per day. This will help your body to build up its cannabidiol reserves to provide maximum benefits.

Furthermore, the optimum form of CBD for pain, anxiety and stress is one that can directly enter the bloodstream. So, we recommend using CBD oil, capsules or vapes to assist this.

If you vape CBD, we also recommend vaping directly before your tattoo session for the calming effect that cannabidiol provides.

The day of the tattoo

Your tattoo session (or sessions if your design is elaborate) will leave your skin needing to recover. The healing process for your tattoo can be varied, and depends on a number of factors including the size of tattoo, location and intricacy of the design.

When your tattoo session is complete, your tattooist will cover the tattoo (usually with clingfilm) as well as some kind of anti-bacterial cream or ointment.

You should remove the tattoo covering when the tattoo stops weeping (most likely after a few hours) to allow airflow. Once the covering is off, wash the tattoo gently with lukewarm water and the flat of your hand. Then pat it dry with a clean towel. (Avoid soaking in a hot bath until 6 weeks post-tattoo.)

You can recover the tattoo at night with clingfilm if you feel the tattoo rubbing in bed.

1-3 days post-tattoo

Over the next few days you are likely to see some discharge and also see that the skin is red and inflamed. You’ll also feel like you have sunburn.

The tattoo should be washed gently with clean water, avoiding soap, to keep the area clean and dry. And again, if you feel the tattoo rubbing on your clothes, you can occasionally recover it with clingfilm. However, bear in mind that exposing your tattoo to the air will help it to recover more quickly.

During this time, you can continue to vape or swallow CBD to promote healing and manage pain.

3 days+

After 3 days you should now start to add a moisturiser to your recovery routine. (Ensure your moisturiser is alcohol free.)

We believe that CBD oil is one of the best tattoo aftercare products in the UK as it provides natural relief from inflammation, pain, as well as helping your skin to heal and stay moisturised. So, you should liberally apply a CBD oil or CBD oil-based cream to your tattoo from 3 days onwards.

As your skin heals, some scabs will form and you wil need to increase the moisturising of the skin. After around 2 weeks, the skin will start to return to a normal. The outer layers of skin heal first, but underneath, the deeper zones will still require a number of months to fully heal.

Long-term CBD tattoo aftercare

At around the three month mark your tattoo should now be showing in all of its glory, with the pigmentation and colours appearing bright, without further irritation.

At this point, you should still continue to apply your CBD oil or cream to your tattoo. This will help keep the colours defined, and keep the skin moisturised to prevent blurring of lines.

The Complete 2020 Guide to CBD in Cheltenham

Whilst the UK has been quick to adopt CBD, the perhaps more conservative Cheltenham has been far slower in its acceptance of cannabidiol products. And whilst this is starting to change with many more mainstream retailers starting to adopt CBD items, many people in Cheltenham are still largely unfamiliar with the topic!

So, as an online CBD company based in Cheltenham, we’ve created this quick-read guide to CBD in Cheltenham, including:

  • Laws and regulations around CBD
  • Different CBD products in Cheltenham
  • Where to buy high-quality CBD oil in Cheltenham
  • How to recognise a high-quality product
  • How to find the CBD product that works best for you

A Rough Guide to CBD Oil in Cheltenham

  • CBD oil in Cheltenham is becoming more widely available, with more mainstream retailers such as Boots and Holland & Barrett stocking cannabidiol products
  • There are some concerns about about the quality of CBD products available in Cheltenham
  • Cannabidiol oil in Cheltenham includes both full-spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate options
  • With a government licence Cheltenham farmers  can grow Industrial Hemp as long as hemp THC content is less than 0.2%.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is a chemical compound found naturally in the hemp plant. Users report a wide variety of health benefits including support with stress and anxiety, improved skin health, boosted immune function and pain relief among many others.

And hemp is a type of plant found within the cannabis sativa species. This is where some confusion comes in. Many people think that CBD comes from or contains marijuana. But this isn’t the case! Marijuana is also a plant within the cannabis sativa species, but it is not the same as hemp.

a family tree diagram of cannabis, hemp and marijuana

In fact, marijuana contains very low levels of CBD. So, it’s not ideal for creating CBD products. It also contains high levels of THC – the psychoactive chemical compound that causes a high. Whereas hemp contains naturally low levels of THC, which are then removed during the CBD extraction process to be compliant with UK law. So, don’t worry! CBD products won’t get you high and aren’t illegal as long as they adhere to UK regulations and contain less than 0.0% THC.

Is it legal to buy CBD in Cheltenham?

Short answer: Yes!

Long answer: Yes, it is legal to buy CBD in Cheltenham, as long as it adheres to UK regulations. You can buy a CBD as long as the product contains less than 0.00% THC. THC is the compound that can get you high, and potentially leads to failing a drugs test.

However, the guidelines around CBD oil in Cheltenham could soon be changing. CBD oil in Europe has recently been classed as a novel food item, meaning that it could be banned. And whilst it’s unclear whether the UK government will adopt this ruling, it’s important to keep updated. Remember, you’ll still be held liable for buying an illegal product even if it was mis-sold to you.

CBD in London has become quite popular over the past 5 years or so. In fact, CBD oil drops are the most common form of CBD across the UK as a whole. So, you won’t find our high concentrations of CBD oil from many other CBD retailers.

CBD SKINCARE PRODUCTS

a woman posing with ulu range of CBD skincare and beauty products including CBD cream, balm, serum and oil

CBD skincare products are relatively new to the Cheltenham market. However, CBD is actually a powerful natural anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant. It also helps to reduce production of sebum, meaning that it also has anti-acne benefits.

When you use CBD skincare products, they’re not absorbed into the bloodstream. Therefore, they shouldn’t be your first choice if you’re looking for support with anxiety, stress, immune function, heart or brain health. However, they can help provide an even, clear skin tone, reduce redness or itching, and also reduce signs of ageing.

ULU has an extensive collection of topical CBD products. We use only the finest, natural ingredients, combined with our potent, organic cannabidiol. And we’re proud to offer some of the highest concentrations of CBD skincare products in Cheltenham as well as the wider UK. In fact, we haven’t found any retailers offering higher-concentration skincare products than us.

Where to buy CBD oil products in Cheltenham

You’ll be faced with a lot of choice if you’re looking to  buy CBD in Cheltenham. However, not all methods are equal when it comes to finding a high-quality, high-strength product from a retailer you can trust.

Buy CBD in-store

When it comes to buying CBD products including CBD oil in Cheltenham, you can now choose from a number of physical retailers. There are a number of vaping shops, and specialist beauty suppliers stocking cannabidiol products. And mainstream retailers such as Holland & Barrett and Boots have also started stocking CBD. We’ve even seen some CBD drinks in some of the off-licenses on the lower High Street.

Buying in-store is convenient. You’ll be able to hold the product in your hand, and get an accurate feel for product size. However, you should always shop with caution when it comes to buying CBD in a shop. You could find yourself swayed by a pushy sales assistant without having the time to do your own research first. And if you’re buying from a more general retailer, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert on hand to advise you and answer questions.

The quality of CBD products found in-store can vary hugely. A 2019 UK report into CBD products on the market found that many UK CBD retailers’ products contained less CBD than advertised. And many of them actually had illegal levels of CBD – this includes mainstream brands sold in Boots and Holland & Barrett!

Buy CBD Online

However  another option when buying CBD in Cheltenham is to buy CBD online. During the Covid-19 crisis and the need to social distance, many people have turned to on-line shopping, and this is true as well for CBD.

Buying online provides more choice when it comes to CBD products. However, this means that you’ll need to do your research to make sure you’re buying a high-quality product.

Here at ULU we exclusively stock online products for these reasons. We’re also a Cheltenham-based business and can supply your CBD products overnight from our Gloucestershire-based CBD warehouse.

4 Essential Tips To Help You Buy CBD Online

How to guarantee a high-quality CBD product

When it comes to buying CBD products and CBD oil in Cheltenham – either in-store or online – we urge you to do some careful research. So, here is some of our best advice about how to find the highest-quality CBD products.

  • Many retailers will offer cheaper products, whilst making claims about amazing benefits. But usually when you look at the CBD content of a budget product, there actually isn’t much cannabidiol. Remember, you’ll need to take a high concentration of CBD on a regular, long-term basis to have any real benefits. And if the price of a CBD product seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Often, CBD retailers use different metrics when it comes to the CBD content of each product. Some use mg, some use % and others use PPM. This often makes it difficult to work out exactly how much CBD you’re getting, and even more difficult to compare one product with another. Reputable retailers will be very clear about exact CBD content. We believe that percentage of overall CBD content is the easiest measurement to understand. And if you can find the CBD per dose, (which we always give for our CBD oils) this is even better.
  • A reputable seller will have a professional website with advanced security certificates. There will also be a guarantee that products contain less than 0.00% THC.
  • Remember to read reviews not only on the retailer website, but also from third-party, independent review sites.
  • Only purchase from retailers who have their products tested by independent labs to verify quality, purity and 0% THC content. You can find our ULU lab reports here.

The Complete Guide to CBD in London

Buying CBD in London is easier and more accessible than ever before. But with so many options available, it can be difficult to know what to choose, and to guarantee a high-quality product. Especially if you don’t really know what you’re looking for!

So, we’ve created this guide to help you stay informed and educated about buying CBD in London. We’ll go over the laws and regulations surrounding CBD, the range of different CBD products in London, as well as how to find high-quality products that suit you.

A rough guide to hemp, CBD and CBD oil in London

  • Hemp-derived CBD oil in London (and other CBD products) are widely available
  • Industrial hemp cultivated in England must contain 0.2% THC or less
  • CBD oil in London includes full-spectrum , broad spectrum and isolate options
  • In England, the Home Office regulates the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp.
  • If you wish to register to grow hemp in England you can find further advice here
  • CBD products in London must have untraceable levels of THC – so, less than 0.00% THC content
  • As well as retail outlets, it’s easy to have CBD products delivered to your door in London, thanks to the city’s wide distribution network.

Is it legal to buy CBD in London?

Short answer: yes!

Long answer:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is considered non-addictive and non-psychoactive. It is also not a controlled substance in the UK. Therefore it is legal to buy CBD in London. However, it does still need to adhere to some important guidelines.

To be entirely legal in the UK, CBD products need to contain untraceable levels of THC – so, less than 0.0%. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive chemical compound found in marijuana that causes a high. It’s also illegal in the UK. And despite the fact that hemp contains naturally very low levels of THC, and that hemp grown in the UK must have below 0.2% THC content, some THC will need to be extracted and removed during the production process.

So, always make sure to check the ingredients carefully and only buy from manufacturers that guarantee 0% THC! Remember, you’ll still be held liable for purchasing an illegal product, even if it was mis-sold to you.

a family tree diagram of cannabis, hemp and marijuana

Furthermore, the guidelines around CBD oil in London could be changing. CBD oil has recently been classed as a novel food item in Europe, which could mean that it becomes illegal. And even though it’s unclear as to whether the UK will follow these guidelines, it’s still important to keep updated. So, remember to check back regularly on the legal status of CBD oil in London and the UK.

  • Check out real customer reviews on the retailer’s website but also independent review sites and social media
  • Only by from companies who have their products tested by third-party labs to verity content and purity. This is much easier to do when shopping online.  (You can read the results of our ULU lab reports here.)

However, not just anyone can decide to grow hemp in London. You’ll actually need a hemp growing license from the Home Office. And you’ll need to adhere to a few guidelines including:

  • Informing the police that you are a hemp license holder
  • Providing details of your exact hemp growing location, including coordinates, field location numbers and exact hectarage details
  • Refraining from growing hemp close to sensitive areas such as schools or playgrounds

Cannabis Leaf

Where to buy cannabidiol products and CBD oil in London

Buying CBD in London has become more accessible than ever before. And whilst this provides London customers with the benefit of lots of choice, it can also be difficult to find a trusted retailer with high-quality products.

Let’s take a look at the different ways to buy CBD in London as well as the benefits and drawbacks of each.

Buy CBD in-store

The first option when buying CBD products and CBD oil in London is to visit one of the many in-store locations. Consumers can purchase CBD products in places such as health food shops, chemists, and other retailers. Even off-licenses and petrol stations often sell CBD oils and drinks.

And whilst this is convenient if you’re already out and about, it comes with some setbacks. For example, you could be pressured into buying a product by a pushy sales assistant without doing your own research. And if you’re buying from a more general retailer, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert to advise you.

Buy CBD online

Because of the setbacks mentioned above, we always recommend buying CBD products online. This allows you to easily compare different products and retailers, and have your chosen product delivered to the comfort of your home or office. – Something that’s especially important during lockdown and social distancing.

However, there are hundreds of online CBD retailers – some with low concentration, low-quality products. So, always make sure to do your research when it comes to buying CBD online.

4 Essential Tips To Help You Buy CBD Online

How to choose the best CBD product for you

CBD products in London, whilst widely available, vary in type, quality and benefits. And based on the health benefits you’re looking to achieve, some products will work and others will not.

Here are some tips on how to find the best CBD product for you:

  • Think about your overall goal. If you’re looking for skin benefits, then a CBD cream, balm or serum applied topically would be your best bet. However, if you’re looking for help with anxiety or stress, then skincare creams just won’t cut it – because they won’t be able to enter the bloodstream. In this case, a direct absorption method such as an oil or a vape would work much better.
  • CBD needs to be used over a long-term basis to have any real benefits. So, consider which method would blend into your daily routine. After all, the best CBD product for you is often simply the one that you’ll stick to. For example, if you already take a daily supplement, a CBD capsule is the natural choice. If you already vape, then simply switching to or adding a CBD vape could work for you.

A Brief Guide to CBD in Edinburgh

A rough guide to cannabidiol and CBD oil in Edinburgh

Much like the UK capital London, the availability of CBD in Edinburgh and surrounding areas is reasonably high. Sharing a similarly cosmopolitan culture, the benefits of CBD are already well-known and established by many Edinburgh residents. There are several retail outlets selling CBD products, but the wide range of choice can also mean that it’s easy to end up with something that isn’t exactly what you were after. As well as retail outlets, it’s easy to have CBD products delivered to your door in Edinburgh, thanks to the city’s wide distribution network that means you receive online products promptly.

  • Hemp-derived CBD oil in Edinburgh (and other CBD products) are widely available, both in-store and online
  • Industrial hemp cultivated in Scotland must contain 0.2% THC or less
  • CBD oil in Edinburgh includes full-spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate options
  • In Scotland, the Home Office regulates the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp
  • If you wish to register to grow hemp in Scotland you can find further advice here
  • CBD products in Edinburgh must contain untraceable levels of THC – less than 0.00%

Is it legal to buy CBD in Edinburgh?

In the UK, cannabidiol (CBD) is considered non-psychoactive and non-addictive. And it is therefore not classed as a controlled substance. This means that it is completely legal to buy CBD in Edinburgh – as well as anywhere in the UK.

However, it’s still essential to do plenty of research before making any purchase. Contrary to popular belief, guidelines regarding hemp-derived CBD can still vary wildly from country to country. And with the new novel food regulations appearing in Europe, (and potentially the UK) regulations around CBD oil in Edinburgh could soon be changing. Therefore it’s always a good idea to stay up to date on the latest CBD guidelines in your region.

Since guidelines regarding CBD oil in the UK are regularly changing, a certain amount of confusion can be expected. However, we’ve made it our goal to make  information as accessible and up-to-date as possible. Here is all you need to know about CBD in Edinburgh, including the current status of industrial hemp.

Buying high-quality CBD in Edinburgh

While some manufacturers do everything they can to manufacture real, high-quality CBD, others simply do not. In short, there is a wide variety of standards in overall value and quality on the Edinburgh CBD market.

To avoid scam retailers and to make sure you’re buying high-quality CBD in Edinburgh, always make sure to:

  • Research the retailer thoroughly
  • Check out real customer reviews (not just from the retailer website, but from  third-party, independent review websites)
  • Only buy from retailers who have their products tested by independent labs to verify quality, purity and 0% THC content. (You can find our ULU lab reports here)
  • Find out about the production processes used to create a company’s range of products, as well as the method they’ve used to extract cannabidiol from the hemp plant. (Ultrasonic and CO2 methods will produce a higher-quality product than solvent or oil extraction methods)  After all, high quality CBD can make all the difference in terms of wellness benefits, as well as your overall experience.
  • When comparing one product with another, make sure to work out CBD content accurately. Working out the exact mg of CBD per dose is always the most accurate way to do this. You may find a cheaper product on the market, but if you look at its CBD content, it may not actually be worth the money.
  • Make sure you’re buying high-concentration CBD. Cannabidiol has a wide variety of great benefits – but only if you’re taking it in a high-enough concentration, over a long-term period. Many retailers sell cheaper products with only negligible CBD content. And we’re not confident that any CBD oil, capsule or vape less than a 5% concentration (or a skincare product below a 1% concentration) will have any real benefits.

Where to buy CBD and CBD oil in Edinburgh

The CBD industry is one of the fastest growing trends in the UK. So, it’s no surprise that there are a wide variety of places to buy CBD and CBD oil in Edinburgh. However, this variety also comes with drawbacks, as it means you’ll need to do plenty of research to avoid being scammed or buying a low-quality product.

Here are the main ways to buy CBD in Edinburgh, as well as their benefits and drawbacks.

Buy CBD in-store

Edinburgh residents interested in trying CBD have plenty of options. Consumers can purchase CBD products in places such as health food shops, chemists, and other retailers. You’ll even likely find CBD oils, drinks and edibles at off-licenses or petrol stations.

This is great if you’re already out and about looking to try new products. However, you should always be careful about buying CBD products in Edinburgh from a physical location. This is because it’s much harder to assess product quality without doing your own research. You could be drawn in by attractive packaging without knowing much about the retailer or the product. In addition, if you’re buying from a more general retailer, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert on-hand to answer questions or give advice.

Buy CBD online

However, there is another easier and more convenient option: online shopping or e-commerce. Shopping online llows you the opportunity to do exhaustive research on the products you are buying.

You can research the retailer, the extraction method, read product lab reports to verify quality, and also compare many different retailers to find the best product for you.

Also, online shopping saves you time and your purchases are delivered safely to your home or office. With social distancing so important during the Covid-19 outbreak, home shopping is the way forward.  No hassle, no stress: just convenience and a well-informed choice.

As one of the UK’s most trusted and well-established CBD brands, we believe here at ULU that the online shopping experience is superior to in-store shopping.

How to find the best CBD product for you

With so many options and different CBD products in Edinburgh, it can be difficult to know where to start. So, here’s some advice on how to choose the best CBD product for you.

  • Consider the problem you’re trying to solve. If it’s a skincare issue, inflammation, or even muscle pain then a CBD topical cream or rub could work best. If you’re looking for help with anxiety or stress, or even chronic pain, you’ll need a high strength CBD that’s able to be absorbed into the bloodstream – such as a vape, oil or capsule.
  • Think about what would work best with you’re lifestyle. If you’re already a vaper, then a CBD vape would be the most natural choice. And if you already take a daily supplement, then you might want to consider a CBD capsule or tablet.
  • Read testimonials and reviews from people who have similar health problems or concerns to you. If they recommend a product that’s helped them, then you’ll know this is a great choice. (However, don’t just look for these on retailer websites as they could be biased. And always try to avoid anything that looks like a paid sponsorship – although that’s not to say these don’t include real user advice. – Just try to use your best judgement about what looks real and what looks paid.)

How to buy high-quality CBD in Liverpool

While some manufacturers do everything they can to manufacture real, high-quality CBD, others simply do not. In short, there is a wide variety of standards in overall value and quality when it comes to CBD products in Liverpool.

To ensure that you’re getting the most out of your purchase, always make sure to?:

  • Check out real customer reviews (not just on the retailer’s website, but also from independent review sites)
  • Only buy from retailers who have their products tested by third-party labs to verify quality, purity and 0% THC (You can find our ULU lab reports here)
  • Try to find out about the production processes used to create a company’s range of products and the method of CBD extraction from the hemp plant. (Methods that include ultrasonic technology or C02 extraction will produce a higher-quality and purer product than solvent or oil extraction methods.) After all, high quality CBD can make all the difference in terms of wellness benefits, as well as your overall experience.
  • Whilst it can be tempting to buy cheaper products, you’ll need to work out the CBD content to find out if you’re actually getting better value for money. Many retailers will try to confuse you with different metrics – from overall percentage of CBD to mg of total CBD. However, you’ll need to work out the total amount of CBD content as well as amount of CBD per dose to compare one product with another.
  • Remember, you’ll need to take a concentration cannabidiol product over a long-term timeframe to receive any real benefits. Always aim for over 5% concentration with oils, vapes and capsules, and over 1% concentration for skincare products.

How to buy the best CBD product for you

With the wide array of products and retailers available, it can be difficult to know which products to choose.

To find the best CBD product for you, you should:

  • Research the retailer extensively – they should clearly write about how they’re able to guarantee high-quality products to their customers
  • Consider why you’re taking CBD. If you’re looking for help with anxiety, you’ll need to take a high-concentration (10% or more) product over a long-term timeframe to have any real effect. And products such as oils and vapes are best for anxiety and stress due to their direct access to the bloodstream and quick absorption rates.
  • Think about which products will blend into your lifestyle. After all, the best CBD product is usually defined as the one you’ll be able to stick to. If you’re already a vaper, then a vape may be the best option. And if you already have a morning coffee, then a CBD oil dropped into your drink could be the most natural fit.

How to buy CBD in Liverpool

There are a few ways to buy CBD and CBD oil in Liverpool. However, there are some factors you’ll need to consider to help you buy the best-quality product that offers good value for money.

Here are the main ways to buy CBD products in Liverpool, as well as the benefits and drawbacks of each.

BUY CBD IN-STORE

If you’re interested in buying CBD in Liverpool, you’ll have plenty of shops available to help you do this. Consumers can now purchase CBD products in places such as health food shops, chemists, and other retailers. You’ll even find some CBD oils and cannabidiol drinks in petrol stations and off-licenses.

However, you should always be careful when buying a CBD product in-store. You may find that you’re swayed by the attractive packaging or a pushy sales assistant, without actually considering what you’re buying. You also won’t have much chance to do careful research on the brand or read reviews. And if you’re buying a CBD product from a more general retailer, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert on-hand to answer questions.

BUY CBD ONLINE

However, there is another easier and more convenient option: online shopping or e-commerce. As one of the UK’s most trusted and well-established CBD brands, we believe here at ULU that the online shopping experience is superior to in-store shopping.

Why? It allows you the opportunity to do exhaustive research on the products you are buying, with no pressure from salespeople. Buyers must be careful when choosing an in-store option. This is because not every company sells reputable products with traceable lab reports that can verify content and ingredients.

Also, online shopping saves you time, with your purchases being delivered safely to your home or office. With social distancing so important during the Covid-19 outbreak in Liverpool, home shopping is the way forward as the safest and easiest choice.

And with guidelines on CBD changing all the time, it’s important to stay up to date with the latest information in your region.

So, to help you stay informed and educated, this guide will cover:

  • The laws and regulations surrounding CBD in Birmingham
  • The different CBD products available – including the popular CBD oil in Birmingham
  • Information about how and where to buy CBD in Birmingham and surrounding areas
  • How to find the best CBD product for you

Rough guide to CBD in Birmingham

Britain’s second city has been quick to recognise the benefits of CBD. However, it’s still a relatively new concept in the region. And as such, some more unscrupulous producers have been creating products that aren’t what they claim to be. But the good news is that there are also many genuine CBD products that offer real benefits when it comes to helping ease a number of physical and psychological issues. Several retail outlets offer CBD in Birmingham, both in and out of the city centre, but for reasons you’ll see below we recommend shopping online for delivery to your home or office, in order to make the most informed choices with guaranteed safety.

Some points to note about CBD in Birmingham:

  • Hemp-derived CBD oil in England (and other CBD products) are widely available
  • Industrial hemp cultivated in England contains 0.2% THC or less
  • CBD oil in England includes full-spectrum, broad spectrum and isolate options
  • In England the Home Office regulates the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp.
  • If you wish to register to grow hemp in England you can find further advice here
  • Consumer products must have untraceable THC so less than 0.00% THC

Is it legal to buy CBD in Birmingham?

CBD products in Birmingham are widely used and are also perfectly legal – provided they conform to the appropriate British standards. These include being derived from hemp with less than 0.2% THC content, with the final product containing less than 0.0% THC. (THC is the psychoactive compound found in marijuana which causes users to feel a high.)

It’s essential to do plenty of research before making any CBD purchase. Contrary to popular belief, guidelines regarding hemp-derived CBD can still vary wildly from country to country. And as the European Council have recently classed CBD oil as a novel food, this could potentially make CBD oil illegal to purchase in the near future. This is why it’s best to get a complete picture of what is allowed – and available – in Birmingham. Because of course, there’s always a risk of finding CBD products in Birmingham that have been imported from other countries and may not be legal.

So to ensure that the products you are using are legal CBD products with proper benefits, we want consumers to know how to execute research in order to find the market’s best and most reliable options.

CBD OIL IN BIRMINGHAM

A girl showing how to use an ULU CBD oil bottle with a pipette, CBD products

CBD oil in Birmingham has become increasingly popular over the past few years. In fact, it’s one of the most common ways to consume cannabidiol in the UK. So, if you’re looking to buy CBD in Birmingham for the first time, this could be a great place to start.

Simply use the dropper to place 2-3 drops of CBD under your tongue. Then, leave for 60 seconds for your body to absorb the liquid. This is a quick, effective way of taking CBD, as it allows direct absorption into the blood stream. However, like any CBD product, bear in mind that you’ll need to use a high-concentration formula and make this a long-term habit to receive any real benefits.

We at ULU offer the some of the most potent CBD oils in England, offering CBD concentration levels of up to 20%. In fact, we haven’t found a UK competitor offering higher concentration oils than us. This means that you’re very unlikely to find any retailer offering better value and higher concentration in Birmingham or the West Midlands.

We also offer a range of innovative CBD amino acid supplements. We’ve combined our premium high-strength CBD with powerful amino acids to help support your daily health and wellbeing.

CBD TABLETS AND CAPSULES

ULU Nation CBD capsules with jar and packaging, CBD capsules, CBD tablets, CBD for relaxation

CBD tablets are a convenient way to take your daily dosage of CBD oil. They are clean, as well as being easy to use and transport with you. They also come in doses that are pre-measured, so you don’t need to work out your own dosing.

At ULU we have the finest CBD tablets on the market with some of the highest concentrations in Birmingham and the surrounding areas.

Industrial hemp in Birmingham

Industrial hemp grown in England must have a THC content of 0.2% or less. Seeds must produce plants with no more than 0.2% THC and must be selected from the European Approved Seed Catalogue.

However, whilst all reputable CBD retailers will meet this criteria, the quality of CBD products can vary significantly from one company to the next. And the kind of quality you’ll get in a finished CBD product depends on a few factors. Many of these factors include how the hemp is processed, how the CBD is “pulled” from the plant, and finally, what measures the company puts into place to evaluate the CBD content.

This is why it’s essential for consumers to be well-informed when buying from any CBD company. A company that is committed to presenting high-value CBD from regulated European hemp (like ourselves at ULU), can make all the difference in the world. You can find many reputable retailers of high-quality CBD in Birmingham. However, you can also find many less reputable companies . So it’s important to be aware before you make your CBD purchase by informing yourself as much as possible.

Where to buy CBD in Birmingham

There are a few different ways to buy CBD and CBD oil in Birmingham. And each comes with their own benefits and drawbacks.

So, let’s take a look at the two main ways to buy CBD in Birmingham:

Buy CBD in-store

Consumers can now purchase CBD products in places such as health food shops, chemists, and other more general retailers.  Even many off-licenses and petrol stations now stock CBD products.

However, buyers should be careful when buying CBD oil in a Birmingham shop, as product quality can often be poor, with low-concentration CBD products claiming outlandish benefits. You could also feel pressured into making a quick decision, without the benefit of researching the company, the product, and reading lab reports to verify quality. And if you’re buying in a more general store, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert to advise you.

For these reasons, although CBD oil in Birmingham is widely available in a number of physical stores, we don’t recommend buying unless you’ve had the chance to do thorough research.

Buy CBD online in Birmingham

However, there is another easier and more convenient option: online shopping or e-commerce.

As one of the UK’s most trusted and well-established CBD brands, we believe here at ULU that the online shopping experience is superior to in-store shopping. Why? It allows you the opportunity to do exhaustive research on the products you are buying, with no pressure of time or salespeople.

Also, online shopping saves you time and your purchases are delivered safely to your home or office. With social distancing so important during the Covid-19 outbreak throughout Birmingham, online shopping is the way forward.  No hassle, no stress: just convenience and a well-informed choice.

CBD Oil Vape Pens in the UK: All You Need to Know and More

Vaping has been common in the UK for a number of years now. And the hottest new vaping trend comes in the form of CBD vaping. CBD vape oil pens in the UK are widely available, with hundreds of online and in-store retailers boasting large product ranges. However, if you don’t know much about the topic, it can be difficult to know what to look for.

Here at ULU, we want UK consumers to be more informed than ever about CBD to avoid many of the ‘snake oil salesmen’ and scam companies. So, we’ve created the ultimate guide to CBD vape oil pens in the UK! We’ll cover everything you need to know about the topic, from different types of CBD vape juice, the benefits of vaping CBD oil, as well as how to choose the best CBD vape oil pen for you.

Click on each of the bullet points below to skip to each section for easy reading!

What is vaping?

The subject of vaping has become a hot discussion topic in the media in recent months. And most people know that vaping was initially introduced as means of curbing smoking habits. It is very well known that smoking nicotine or inhaling nicotine is very bad for the lungs and our health, leading to an increased risk of serious health issues.

So, what is vaping? Well, when you are vaping, an oil is being passed over a heated element to increase its temperature. This is then turned into a vapour which you inhale into your lungs.  The main principle here is that the vape liquid never burns, and so you are avoiding combustion of the oil altogether.

As vape products are still relatively new, we are still learning much about them. In fact, recent studies surrounding vaping have pointed to some interesting results. For example, Public Health England and the Royal College of Physicians recently estimated that nicotine vapes are at least 95% safer that classical cigarette smoking.

What is a CBD oil vape pen?

The most recent development for vape liquid has been the introduction cannabidiol vapes. These are vape pens which involve the inhalation of CBD oil (sometimes called CBD vape juice.) Cannabidiol is a naturally occurring chemical compound found in the hemp plant with many reported health benefits for UK users – we’ve even written an article about CBD benefits if you want to know more about this!

Note: Be wary of ‘hemp oil’ vapes in the UK. Whilst, as the name suggests, these also come from hemp, they do not typically contain any CBD. This is because CBD oil comes from the leaves and stems of the hemp plant, whereas hemp oil comes from the seeds, which do not contain any cannabidiol.

A graphic showing the main sources of CBD oil from the hemp plant

What are the benefits of vaping CBD oil?

There are a variety of benefits of vaping CBD oil for users who care to try! And this is because of the way that CBD interacts with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS.) The ECS is an important cell-signalling system within our bodies that is responsible for maintaining homeostasis, and keeping our bodies functioning properly. And taking cannabidiol effectively acts as a boost to your ECS Find out more about the ECS and why it matters.

When inhaled in significant quantities, CBD vape juice provides a mild calming effect. When taken over a long-term basis, it also has benefits for:

  • Sleep
  • Appetite
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Mood
  • Reduced inflammation and support for inflammatory conditions
  • Heart and brain health
  • Immune system function

infographic-showing-benefits-of-cbd-for-body

And the major advantages of CBD oil vape pens is that they are completely legal in the UK. This is because CBD is a non-rewarding substance, so it does not cause users to feel high or intoxicated. The WHO have also reported that CBD does not show any signs of dependency or overdosing risks in users.

Is vaping safe?

Whilst there are benefits of vaping CBD oil, it’s also important to consider the safety of vaping. And although the risks of vaping are far lower than cigarettes, all forms of excessive vaping will create some risk of problems with the lungs. This is because the thinning agent used in CBD oils like PG (propylene glycol), can break down into carcinogens even when heated at low temperatures as with the ceramic coil vape pen. There is also some evidence that vaping can cause problems with reported pneumonia, in which the fatty globules of oil build up in the airways.

Any newspaper or online report about vaping is also likely to mention the recent spate of deaths and injuries to the lungs of vapers in the United States. However, this has ultimately been linked to the poor quality of carrier oil used within US vapes. In addition, the majority of these cases were linked to cannabis and nicotine vaping – not CBD use. Therefore it is very important that any CBD e liquid that you choose to vape is not created by using vitamin E oil carrier oil.

CDC and FDA EVALI report

In February 2020, the CDC and FDA produced a report concerning the risks of EVALI (e-cigarette or vaping product use associated lung injury) in vape users.

The full results of the February 2020 CDC and FDA report in the USA can be found here. But the principle summary of their findings was as follows:

  • National and state data from patient reports and product sample testing show tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)-containing e-cigarette, or vaping, products, particularly from informal sources like friends, family, or in-person or online dealers, are linked to most EVALI  cases and play a major role in the outbreak
  • Vitamin E acetate is strongly linked to the EVALI outbreak. Vitamin E acetate has been found in product samples tested by FDA and state laboratories and in patient lung fluid samples tested by CDC from geographically diverse states.
  • Evidence is not sufficient to rule out the contribution of other chemicals of concern, including chemicals in either THC or non-THC products, in some of the reported EVALI cases.

Are cannabidiol vapes safe?

Of course, excessive use of vaping will carry some of the above risks, mainly in long-term, heavy users. However, many users of CBD vape juice and e-liquids find that the instantaneous feeling of relaxation and relief they get from vaping means that there is far less need to have a continual habit of puffing and inhaling on their vape pen. So, in this case, the benefits of vaping CBD oil are greater than the risks.

However, to avoid any significant risks, we don’t recommend taking up CBD vaping if you aren’t already a regular vaper. Instead, non-vapers should try one of the other methods of CBD usage and application.

Read our handy infographic guide about the different types of CBD available!

Do Vape pens pose a fire risk?

There have also been some reported instances noted of e-cigarettes exploding or catching fire.

To manage fire risk:

  • Always use the correct charger for the device
  • Do not leave your e-cigarette charging unattended, especially overnight
  • Do not carry an e-cigarette in your pocket next to coins or keys
  • Always buy your e-cigarette products from a reputable retailer to make sure they are compliant with UK safety regulations

Does e-cigarette vapour cause harm to others?

There is no evidence so far that vaping causes harm to other people around you. This is in contrast to smoking, where exposure to secondhand smoke is known to be very harmful to the health of others.

This is because unlike cigarettes, there is no side-stream vapour released by a vape pen into the atmosphere, just the exhaled aerosol. Also, unlike tobacco smoke, vape pen vapour dissipates quickly in the atmosphere.

Public Health England’s 2018 independent evidence review found that to date, there have been no identified health risks of passive vaping to bystanders.

The two main types of e-liquid

In the UK, there are two main types of vape liquids: those made with propylene glycol, and those made with vegetable glycerin. And in fact, some e-liquids contain a mixture of both. Each one has slightly different properties, and the type of vape you choose really comes down to a matter of preference. And in fact, many people combine both liquids in their vapes to tailor a unique vaping experience, exactly to their preferences.

So, let’s briefly go over how propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine work within vapes, and what their key differences are:

PG or Propylene glycol

Propylene Glycol (PG) is a clear, colourless, odourless and tasteless fluid obtained from petrochemical sources. It’s also one of the most versatile substances ever created, with uses in the food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. And ever since electronic cigarettes first hit the market, propylene glycol has been the main ingredient for e liquids.

The main reason it serves as the base of cbd vape oil is that it produces vapour when heated. This substance is a colourless and odourless liquid with a sweet taste. It has the ability to keep things moist, and it provides a slightly harsher ‘throat hit’ than vegetable glycerine, which means it provides an experience similar to smoking a cigarette. This is really important, especially for those who are quitting tobacco use and transitioning to vaping, as it enables a similar, yet much less harmful sensation.

Vegetable glycerin

Vegetable glycerin is another ingredient used within some vapes. It is a natural product made from vegetable oil, frequently rapeseed, palm or coconut oil. These oils are split into raw fats under the combined activity of pressure, temperature and water. Temperatures frequently exceed 200 degrees Celsius and the oils are kept under pressure for 20 minutes to half an hour. Glycerol is then absorbed by the water from the fatty acid stage of the oils. Subsequently the glycerol distilled is isolated, creating a normal 99% pure glycerin product. Food-level vegetable glycerin is 99.7% pure, with the remaining 0.3% being water.

Many people prefer vegetable glycerin vapes as they provide a smoother throat hit. They also tend to be thicker liquids, producing much larger clouds – part of the fun for many vapers.

What is a cannabidiol vape pen?

A vape pen is the device that is going to heat up your e-liquid or CBD vape juice and turn it into a vapour which you can then inhale.

A CBD oil vape pen typically contains rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that power a heating element or coil which heats the CBD vape juice or e liquid and turns it into vapour. High-quality vape pens will utilise a ceramic element to heat the oil. As this ensures that there is no burning of the oil or other substances (for example early CBD vape pens used a cotton wick).

Cannabidiol vape pens come in two main varieties: disposable and refillable.

Refillable or disposable CBD oil vape pens

There are a variety of different CBD oil vape pens available to buy in the UK. And the first distinction you’ll need to choose between is a disposable device and a refillable device. Of course, there are some pros and cons that go along with each type. So, now let’s take a look at the difference between the two, as well as their benefits and drawbacks.

What is a refillable vape pen?

A refillable CBD oil vape pen is any type of vape pen that can be filled with CBD e-liquid. It usually has a tank attached to a rechargeable battery, so it can be used multiple times and refilled once the e-liquid runs out. As the name suggests, these cannabidiol vapes are shaped like a pen, and are generally smaller and lighter than the average mod and tank combo. Some of them are suitable for direct lung vaping while others provide a tight mouth to lung draw.

Refillable pod vapes are another option in this category. Although they are designed for vaping nicotine, and not exactly pen-shaped. These mini vapes can be used to vape CBD as well since they are also discreet and easy to use.

Pros and cons of refillable vape oil pens

Refillable CBD oil vape pens require the purchase of a vape device, and obviously some CBD vape juice to fill it with. These devices can come with a heftier price tag than disposables as they are designed to last much longer. Another downside to refillable CBD pens is that they’re less convenient, discreet, and require more knowledge to use properly.

However, many users prefer to use a refillable CBD oil vape pen, as there are more options to achieve a custom vape. Most of them even have adjustable power and airflow options for fine-tuning the experience, depending on whether you prefer a DTL (direct to lung vape) with bigger clouds or a tighter cigarette-style draw. And one of the main benefits of vaping CBD oil in a refillable pen is that it is generally more cost-effective. This is because after the initial investment, a refillable CBD oil vape pen can be re-used many times.

DTL (direct to lung) devices are ideal for lower CBD strengths since they deliver more vapour per puff. On the other hand, MTL (mouth to Lung) is best suited for higher amounts of CBD, since it takes more puffs to achieve the same desired effect. You should bear in mind that the choice of vaping style is very individual, and depends on the amount of vapour you wish to generate.

Pros

  • More cost effective
  • Adjustable set up options for temperature and airflow
  • Efficient delivery method
  • Caters to different vaping styles
  • Larger vape cloud
  • Multiple style , from pens to larger devices
  • More eco-friendly as they are used multiple times

Cons

  • Initial investment to obtain the equipment
  • Some training required to use properly
  • Requires maintenance if performance is to be optimised
  • Not as discreet

What is a disposable CBD vape oil pen ?

Disposable CBD vape oil pens are vape devices that contain a battery, atomiser and are pre filled with cannabidiol vape juice. They generally resemble a tube, some so small that they resemble a cigarette, and are sometimes referred to as cigarette-style vape pens. Disposables are designed to provide usually a few hundred inhalations before they are empty and are then thrown away.

Disposable cannabidiol vapes are another practical alternative to CBD cartridges and CBD pods, since they do not require the investment of purchasing a battery or compatible pod system. They are typically draw activated, which means they only produce vapour when you take a breath, drawing air through the device.

Pros and cons of disposable CBD vape oil pens

Disposable CBD vape oil pens are one of the most practical ways to start vaping cannabidiol, especially for first time users.  They’re also relatively inexpensive and are incredibly easy to use. As they they are pre filled, disposable CBD pens do not require you to purchase CBD vape juice or any additional items. Simply vape and go!

However, they generally don’t offer as much variety in terms of flavours and CBD concentration levels. They are also generally not as cost effective as refillable vape pens if you consider the amount of CBD vape oil they contain compared with the price. Another drawback is that they are limited to a cigarette style draw, a style of vaping also called mouth to lung. This style of delivery combined with the low output means that you may need to vape it more often to achieve your desired CBD dosage.

Pros

  • Convenient
  • No maintenance or preparation required
  • Small and compact and easy to carry
  • Lightweight

Cons

  • Less cost effective than refillable devices
  • More limited selection
  • No direct lung options
  • Non-adjustable (power/airflow)
  • Difficult to recycle

CBD Vape juice

So, now you understand the different components of e-liquid, as well as the different varieties of vape pens, you’ll need to think about CBD vape juice.

One of the reasons that CBD vape juice has proven so popular is because the the absorption of the CBD is almost instant. After vaping the e liquid , the user will feel the benefits of the cannabidiol taking effect throughout the body.

Is there a difference between CBD e-juice and e-liquid ?

You will often see different terms for CBD vape oil. It’s sometimes called e-liquid, e-juice, vape oil, or even CBD vape juice. In reality, these are all the same things: a vape liquid that contains cannabidiol. They’ll all behave and be used in exactly the same manner.

How to choose the best CBD oil vape pen

Next, it’s important to choose the best CBD vape oil for you. There are hundreds of different product varieties and retailers on the UK market. So, it’s important to do your research and understand what you’re looking for. And of course, choosing the best CBD oil vape for you often comes down to a matter of preference.

However, there are a few key things to look out for:

1. High-quality carrier oil

The first thing you need to check is the carrier oil that is being used to create the vapour. Due to the risks we discussed earlier, you should always avoid any product that is made using vitamin E. High-quality cannabidiol vape oil will be made with propylene glycol (80%) vegetable glycerine (20%) plus cannabidiol (CBD).

2. Choose your CBD vape juice strength

The next step is to decide the strength of cannabidiol vape liquid you wish vape. You should bear in mind that although there are many benefits of vaping CBD oil, you’ll need to vape it in a high enough concentration over a long-term basis to have any real effect.

At ULU we prefer to have a higher level of CBD and use a potent 5% concentration. When buying a CBD oil vape pen in the UK, you’ll certainly find some products for a cheap budget that claim outlandish benefits. However, in reality you will find that these cheaper products have only negligible levels of cannabidiol. And in this case, all you’re really doing is vaping oil with no benefit from the CBD.

For some users this may be sufficient, however if you’re looking to achieve all the great benefits that come from high-strength cannabidiol vapes, you should always make sure to check the concentration levels. You should also compare the overall price of the product with the amount of cannabidiol you’re actually getting per use. We’re not confident that anything less than a 5% CBD level will have any major benefits.

3. Only buy THC-free cannabidiol vapes

At the same time, it’s absolutely essential that you only buy from retailers who guarantee 0% THC cannabidiol vapes. THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) is the psychoactive chemical compound in marijuana that gets you high. It’s also illegal in the UK. Remember, you will be held liable for breaking the law, even if you were mis-sold an illegal product by a UK retailer.

Always make sure to buy from retailers who have their products tested by third-party labs to verify concentration levels and 0% THC. You can find our ULU lab reports here!

4. Avoid nicotine

Here at ULU, we’re passionate about health and wellbeing. So, we recommend avoiding nicotine to keep yourself safe from any health risks. However, you should also avoid nicotine in your CBD oil vape pen because it’s an additive that will reduce the benefits of using a cannabidiol vape.

CBD vape juice is designed to relax, destress and help your body to heal – all of which is made counter-productive by the addition of nicotine!

5. Choose your flavour

The final step to choosing the best CBD vape oil for you is to choose a flavour.  There are many available across the UK, but here at ULU, we’ve used extensive research to choose the UK’s 6 most popular cannabidiol vape oil flavours.

Why not browse our collection of CBD vape flavours?

Where can you buy CBD oil vape pens in the UK ?

There are a few options for buying a CBD oil vape pen in the UK. And again, each come with pros and cons. So, let’s take a look at the options.

Buy cannabidiol vapes in-store

Many cannabidiol vapes are now available in a variety of brick-and-mortar shops. You can find CBD offers in large national retail chains, specialist vaping shops, and petrol stations. However, some of the products sold in these shops are not properly vetted for quality and reputability. Plus, if you’re buying from a more general shop, there may not be a dedicated CBD expert on-hand to give advice. And if this is the case, you could be persuaded to spend money on a low-quality product that you might not know how to use.

Buy cannabidiol vapes online

And of course, when buying CBD oil vape pens in the UK you can also buy online. During the Covid-19 crisis and the need to social distance, many people have turned to on-line shopping, and this is true as well for CBD products. However, you’ll also need to do plenty of research to find a reputable retailer.

A reputable seller will always have:

  • A professional website with advanced security certificates
  • A wide product range along with product and CBD usage information
  • Clear concentration levels of CBD per product and per use
  • Guarantees that products contain less than 0.00% THC
  • Independent lab reports to verify concentration levels and purity
  • Positive reviews not just on their site, but on a variety of third-party review sites

A Brief Guide to CBD in Scotland

Introducing the ULU 2020 guide to CBD in Scotland. With so many Scottish retailers on the market making all sorts of claims, we believe it’s important to get the facts straight. We want people to be more informed about CBD than ever! So, we’ve created this guide to help you understand the legal status of cannabidiol and hemp, how to buy CBD online safely and legally, as well as the different types of CBD products in Scotland today.

A rough guide to CBD in Scotland

  • Hemp-derived CBD oil in Scotland (and other CBD products) are widely available
  • Industrial hemp cultivated in Scotland must contain 0.2% THC or less
  • CBD oil in Scotland includes both full-spectrum , broad spectrum and isolate options
  • In Scotland the British Home Office regulate the cultivation, processing, and sale of hemp.
  • If you wish to register to grow hemp in Scotland you can find further advice here
  • CBD products in Scotland must have untraceable THC so less than 0.00% THC content to be level in

Is CBD legal in Scotland?

Even a quick internet search will show that the question ‘Is CBD legal in Scotland?’ is a common one. And as many Scottish people are aware by now, CBD is an active compound found in the hemp plant. It is non-intoxicating, meaning that it does not produce a high or intoxication. For these reasons, the compound is now legally enjoying popularity in many parts of Scotland.

However, these guidelines could soon be changing due to CBD oils recently being classed as novel food items by the European Council – which could make them illegal. However, it’s yet unclear as to whether the UK will enforce this ruling. If you’re an avid buyer of CBD oil in Scotland, make sure to check in on this regularly. Remember, even if you’re mis-sold an illegal product by a retailer, you’ll still be held liable for any legal punishment.

CBD products in Scotland

There are a wide variety of CBD products in Scotland. And choosing the product that works for you comes down to a variety of factors – which we’ve discussed later on in this article. However, to help you make your decision, here’s a list of some of the most popular CBD products in Scotland today:

CBD OIL IN SCOTLAND

A man holding up a bottle of ULU CBD oil

Taking CBD oil in Scotland has become increasingly popular over the past few years. Simply use the oil dropper to insert 2-3 drops under your tongue. Then, wait for 60 seconds for your body to absorb the oil. You can also do this 2 or 3 times a day depending on your desired dose. Alternatively, you can add a couple of drops of oil to food or beverages. Why not check out our recipe for CBD chocolate brownies?

However, it’s important to understand that CBD needs to be taken in high enough concentrations to have the benefits claimed by many retailers. Here at ULU, we offer some of the highest concentration CBD oil in Scotland or even in the UK. And unlike many retailers who’ll try to confuse you with a variety of measurements, we always include exact mg of cannabidiol per drop.

We’ve also developed an innovative range of CBD amino supplement oils – enriched with powerful amino acids.

CBD CAPSULES

If you do not like the taste of CBD Oil, the perfect solution is CBD capsules. Sometimes these are known as soft gel tablets. The procedure for taking your daily dose is greatly simplified, as you simply take the capsule with your normal daily meal time schedule. No mess no fuss.

CBD SKINCARE

CBD also has a variety of benefits for skin, with CBD products in Scotland increasingly becoming skincare and beauty related. There are body oils, face creams and face serums, and also balms available in Scotland. The addition of CBD acts an anti inflammatory and assists with redness, acne, as well as dry and tired skin. We actually add CBD to our products, many others claim to contain CBD but have minute quantities that can barely offer any benefit.

Our impressive collection of topical CBD skincare products is ideal if you wish to add to your beauty regime.

CBD VAPING

Vaping in general has become very popular, and now CBD vape oil has arrived. Offering a rapid absorption into the body, vaping enables the user to gain the benefits of CBD in a fast and convenient way. Also available in 6 flavours, ULU offers strawberry e liquid, cinnamon vape oil, blueberry e liquid, vanilla vape oil , menthol e-liquid and peppermint vape oil. ULU CBD vape oils contain 0% THC and are non addictive, making them an exciting alternative for taking CBD.

Industrial hemp in Scotland

Industrial hemp grown in Scotland can only have a 0.2% THC content or less by dry weight. THC is the psychoactive compound that produces a high, or mind altering effects.

With hemp derived CBD products, consumers do not have this effect, because the level of CBD is reduced down to less than 0.00% when it arrives in the final product. So, it’s always best to make sure you’re buying hemp-derived CBD products.

As CBD is naturally derived from hemp, there has been an increase in interest for farming the plant in Scotland as indicated in this article in The Scottish Farmer.

Where can I buy CBD in Scotland?

CBD products in Scotland are widely available. And as long as they contain less than 0.2% THC, they are legal to buy. In fact, they can be purchased nearly anywhere. Head down to your local vape shop, health supplement shop, or petrol station for instance, and you will see a variety of CBD products – mainly oils and drinks.

Given their widespread availability, Scottish residents now have easy access to hemp derived products. For some, this means better prices and a wide selection of products to choose from. People can access full spectrum CBD, broad spectrum CBD, and even CBD isolate products depending on the shop they visit. Read our recent article for more information on the different spectrums of CBD.

Unfortunately, the quality of these products available in shops can be variable. And as many CBD products in Scotland are sold by general retailers, there isn’t always a dedicated CBD expert in-store to ask for advice. For this reason, it’s important to do plenty of research to find a good, high quality brand with excellent customer reviews and a commitment to providing exceptional products.

Buy CBD online in Scotland

If you’re looking to buy CBD online in Scotland, you have plenty of options. As CBD is one of the fastest growing industries in the UK, a simple Google search will return hundreds of CBD retailers.

Online shopping though, saves you time and your purchases are delivered safe to your home. But it’s important to do careful research on your chosen retailer to avoid wasting money on low-quality, low-concentration products. Many online retailers only use small amounts of cannabidiol in their products, and make it difficult for buyers to understand exactly how much CBD they’re getting in each product.

So, investing a little more of your precious time and doing some research enables you to ensure that what you are purchasing is suitable and fit for purpose. Though CBD products are made from industrial hemp, not all of them are made equally. You should make sure a brand specifies:

  • Where the CBD was sourced.
  • 0% THC
  • The extraction method of CBD – look for higher-quality extraction methods that include ultrasonic technology or C02 extraction rather than oil or solvent methods

In addition to this, you should only buy from retailers who have their products tested by third-party labs to verify their exact content. An inability to view lab reports presents a problem for potential CBD customers. A recent UK study actually found that many major CBD retailers were inaccurate with their reports about actual CBD content, with some even allowing THC to creep in at illegal levels.

You can find our ULU lab reports here.
